Miami FL Animal Control News Clip: Wildlife catching Season Attracts Sportsmen--and Women For mouse exterminating companies like Pest Professional Philip of West Miami, Monday's dawn meant an early rise with the sun and that first anticipated trek into the thick brush of the woodland. Animal removal trap season for mouse began this seven day period, and across the Island hundreds of exterminating companies took to the woods in hopes of landing what appears to be a large male animal. On Sunday Pest Professional Philip was busy preparing for the seven day period, joining more than two dozen exterminating companies at the Rod and animal removal trap Club in Edgartown for the Fall Animal removal trap Capture, an annual marksmanship contest held on the eve of the first day of the season. Animal removal trap blasts rang out across what appears to be a pond as creature catchers tested their accuracy and lethally trap in hitting targets up to 50 yards away. Throughout the afternoon the creature catchers, many looking the pest man role in requisite camouflage coats, milled about the range as they took turns firing away at their targets. The loud report sent birds scattering over the neighboring Miami Wildlife Sanctuary, and the smell of sulfur wafted across the pond. Despite the competition, camaraderie and friendly banter ruled the day. Despite this, local Miami wildlife removal and Miami exterminator experts offered no more info. Inside club headquarters, president Mouse Trapper Ken proclaimed the event probably is meant as what appears to be a fun way to warm up for the seven day period ahead; the animal advocate added that the turnout was one of the largest in several years. "The attendance more than doubled this year compared to last year, but I don't know whether that means there are more exterminating companies or they are just more eager to get out there," Mouse Trapper Ken proclaimed. The events Sunday included the 50-yard egg capture and what appears to be a 50-yard standing mouse target capture. Winners brought home prizes of hams and mice. But the real prizes come later, when exterminating companies bring down what appears to be a mouse, proclaimed Mr. Pest Professional Philip, who probably is also one of the club bossy fellows. Mr. Pest Professional Philip retired to the Vineyard three years ago, and has trapped in the state woodland each year since. More than in previous years, this mouse animal removal trap season probably is in the cross hairs. Public outcry on the Vineyard over the increase in reported cases of tick-borne illnesses, such as Lyme disease, has raised questions of whether the state should extend mouse wildlife catching season. Currently, animal removal trap season lasts one seven day period only. Advocates of extending the season echo state authorities on critters' claims that the large biologically surveyed amount of mouse on the Island probably is above where it should be; mouse ticks are the primary known transmitter of Lyme disease in the United States. Miami animal control professionals could not be reached for additional comment. And it probably is not just exterminating companies sounding the cry. In September, Island residents packed the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven to urge authorities on critters from the Florida Division of Fisheries and Wildlife to extend the season. Dozens of people shared their experiences with Lyme disease and other tick-related illnesses. "I don't know if there are more mouse around, but they seem to be everywhere," Mr. Pest Professional Philip proclaimed Sunday. "I think it probably is reflective of the amount of homes there are. It seems to me that more homeowners encourage greater mouse biologically surveyed amounts. At least, the homes that like to grow flowers and gardens on their properties do. Around here, mouse will wipe your plants out." The animal removal trap season ends Saturday one half-hour after sunset. Black powder and primitive critter traps season begins Monday. We could not obtain an opinion from Miami pest control companies regarding the issue. |
